Apply for an e-moderator for your PhD or Doctoral defence
At SUND you can apply for support from an e-moderator (student assistant) for your online PhD defence or your Doctoral defence session. The e-moderator will assist you with setting up your Zoom-meeting, testing the functionality together with you, the participating supervisors and the assessment committee in advance, and - if you like – the e-moderator can participate partly or fully in the defence. The support is free of charge at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. The e-moderators can only help with the online platform: Zoom.
You may choose between 3 different options:
1. Small package (advice and training): A few weeks before the defence date, the e-moderator provides advice regarding the Zoom meeting room and tests the functionality of the Zoom meeting room together with you and possibly supervisors / members of the assessment committee. You can also ask the e-moderator for help with creating the Zoom meeting room, if necessary. Please note that the Graduate School must receive the Zoom link and other information about the defence at least 3 weeks before the defence date.
2. Medium package (advice, training and startup of the defence): Contains the same services as the “small package”, and furthermore includes support at the day of the defence. The e-moderator will provide support starting from half an hour before the scheduled defence and until the meeting is successfully up and running.
3. Large package (advice, training and support during the whole defence): Contains the same services as the “small package”, and furthermore includes support at the day of the defence. The e-moderator will provide support starting from half an hour before the scheduled defence and through all the 3 hours of the defence.
If you have any additional comments or questions you may describe them in the field below, and we will let you know if we can accommodate them.
You can expect a reply to your request no later than 48 hours after your application. The capacity of e-moderators is limited, but we will try to help as many as possible.
